AXA Investment Managers - Real Assets appoints Sven Krumpholz as Head of Asset Management & Transactions in Germany

AXA Investment Managers - Real Assets (“AXA IM - Real Assets”), a global leader in real asset investments and the leading(1) real estate portfolio and asset manager in Europe, announces that Sven Krumpholz has been appointed as Head of Asset Management & Transactions in Germany. Based in Cologne, he will report directly to Andrew Stainer, Global Head of Asset Management, and will join Christoph Moelleken, Head of Fund Management, in heading the Real Assets business in Germany.

Apart from specifically heading up the Asset Management, Development and Transactions business in Germany and amongst other initiatives, Sven Krumpholz will be responsible for leading the effort to build exposure to the residential sector, working closely with and coordinating the efforts of the Transactions, Development, Asset Management, Fund Management and Operations teams. Sven Krumpholz has been with AXA IM - Real Assets for five years in the role of Head of Asset Management Germany, and brings more than 20 years’ direct experience working in the German real estate market.

As one of the largest real estate markets in Europe, Germany is a key priority for AXA IM - Real Assets, where it manages over €5 billion(2) of assets across multiple asset classes, in both investment and development mandates, focused in the core metropolitan areas. On behalf of its clients AXA IM - Real Assets has completed a number of transactions during the last twelve months with an aggregated value of about €1 billon(2). These include the acquisitions on behalf of clients of a centrally located Munich office building; a prime retail and hotel development opportunity in the city centre of Leipzig; Taunushaus, a 11,200 sqm office building in Munich’s Milbershofen business district; 17 healthcare properties in Western Germany for c. €310 million; and the Abba Hotel in Berlin. AXA IM - Real Assets has also secured a number of major lettings across Germany, including a 12.5-year lease with an international law firm for 2,871 sqm of office space at 1 Lenbachplatz, a prime Munich office asset; a 4,000 sqm lease to an international retailer at the Kranzler Eck Berlin and a 10-year lease with a global retailer for 44,250 sqm of logistics space in Niedersachsenpark. Further, the team has successfully delivered on several refurbishment projects which demonstrates the capacity of the team to create value for the clients.
