Steve McCarthy

Steve is currently Head of North America at AXA IM – Real Assets. His responsibilities include defining, recommending and executing all aspects of the business’s North American equity and debt investment and capital raising strategies. He is also in charge of the continued growth of the investment and asset management platform. Steve is a member of the Real Assets Management Board.

Steve joined AXA IM – Real Assets in 2013 as U.S. Head of Asset Management & Transactions, in charge of sourcing and executing acquisitions and dispositions and overseeing all aspects of asset management activities in the U.S.

Prior to joining AXA IM – Real Assets, Steve was the Co-founder and Principal of MXA Capital and prior to that he was COO of Greenprint Foundation. Previously, Steve held senior positions at Buchanan Street Partners, WestWind Capital Partners LP and Jones Lang Wootton in the US and at Tishman Speyer Properties in the UK.

Steve has over 36 years of experience in real estate investment management and he has completed over $10 billion of real estate transactions throughout the U.S.

Steve earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College. Steve serves as a board member of AFIRE.
